Dachau, Sept 05

Dachau is a Labor Camp south of Heidelburg about 2 1/2 hours. This was not used as a Concentration Camp untill the end of the war. This camp was used for "Special Prisoners", political opponents, criminals, and such. There were no Jew's there untill the end. However, they did have Furnaces and a Gas chamber, but they say the chamber was never used. When the US arrived, they found mass graves with over 7000 bodies in them. Not a real "fun" place to go, but intresting to see this part of history. One of the pictures is a Daily Schedule. Kinda hard to read, but pretty damn hard.

Sheutznshnears

In March we went to Kussul. Pronounced Shootz'n Shnears. This is when we go to a German range and shoot their weapons, and they come to ours and do the same. We shot an HK 9mm, MG 42, and a G 36.

Life in the Hooch

These are pictures from around the Hooch (office). Most of the people in this photo album have either lefft Germany, or are in another platoon now, but you can kinda get a glimpse of what we do on a day to day basis. Well, not really all we do. We do some work, but those pics wouldn't be any fun to look at.

Paris Feb. 05

SFC Jacobson, SFC Brady, and me went to Paris on a 3 day weekend back in Feb. Brady drove his Mustang so he could get a picture of it in front of the Eiffle Tower. Not too many pictures of Mustangs in Paris. Saw all the sites, got pictures of'em and all that good stuff.

Grafenwear Training Area, Germany, March 05

I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling of the Base, but it's close. Anyway, this is where we go to the field. Only thing is, it's not really the field. We stay in hard buildings, have hot showers, and hot meals twice a day. So the only roughing is going without cable TV for a few weeks. However, we do take computers and DVD players, so we make due. Adapt and overcome! This field problem was in March, 05. This was also the first month I was an NCO, (Seargent). Promoted on 1 March, 2005. I wasn't one of those, "hear ya go, you've been in long enough to have the rank" NCO's. If you're in the Army reading this, you know what I mean. Well, check out the Pics, and you can get an idea of what we do in the field.

Organizational Day, May 05

Organizational Day is kinda like a May Day in school. The 3 Platoons in the Battery play differnt sports, and compete against each other for the prize. In this case the BIGGEST Trophy in the Battery. The Trophy was presented at the Spring Ball the next night. The same one we are drinking out of in the Spring Ball pictures. More than anything, its bragging rights untill the next time we have a "May Day." Anyway, Myself and SFC Brady decided we would wear the most outstanding things we could find. I think I won in that department, though. Hope ya'll enjoy the pics.

Spring Ball, May 05

This is the time the Army lets all us FISTrs (Fire Support Team, not to be confused with Firemen)dress up and act like civilized people and hang out with all the big wigs. That's how it always starts, too. Hope you enjoy the picstures.

Memorial Day Weekend, 05

SFC Brady, SFC Jacobson, SGT Claussen and Wife Paula, and myself went camping in Garmish, Germany. We went to the Eagels Nest on the Austrian border, the New Schwanstein Castle, which the Disney Castle was designed after, and went riding on a 2 mile roller coaster in Austria. On the last day we sat in a River that was so cold, all we had to do was put the drinks in the river to stay cold, no coolers neccessary, and drank some fine German beer. Check out some pictures from the trip at the link below.
